CIDA’s Virtual Accreditation Workshops
Join CIDA staff and a member of the Accreditation Commission for an overview of the accreditation process, key policies, and practical guidance for programs preparing to pursue CIDA accreditation.
Kelley Beaverford, Associate Professor in the Department of Interior Design at the University of Manitoba, will share her program’s recent experience completing a CIDA self-study and Program Analysis Report for a first-professional Master of Interior Design program. Natalia Worden, Chief Academic Officer at the Design Institute of San Diego, will then discuss her program’s approach to self-study and the development of its Program Analysis Report. The session will conclude with a panel discussion.
Travis Hicks, Professor and Department Chair, and Lauren Matlosz, Administrative Associate, from the Interior Architecture and Design program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, will share their experience organizing a student work display that incorporated primarily physical materials with select virtual components for a recent accreditation review. Daniel Newman, Assistant Teaching Professor at Drexel University, will discuss his experience organizing and developing a virtual student work display. The session will conclude with a panel discussion featuring all presenters.
Mariana Junqueira and Katrina M. Lewis from the Department of Interior Architecture and Industrial Design at Kansas State University will co-present on their approach to self-study and organizing a student work display. Working as a coordinated team throughout the accreditation process, they will discuss how this collaborative approach supported consistency across written documentation, assessment evidence, student work, and file organization, ultimately strengthening the overall clarity and coherence of the materials presented to the review team. The session will conclude with a panel discussion featuring the presenters.
Members of CIDA’s Standards Committee and Accreditation Commission will join CIDA staff for a discussion about the Professional Standards and answer participant questions.
All five virtual workshops offered, for a discounted rate. This does not include the CIDA site visitor session.
