Do you have any advice/tips you'd like to share with the community?

Success is about being a dependable resource, advocate, mentor, expert in your field, or a passionate ambassador for the profession. Early in my career, I recognized the profound value of actively participating in initiatives that further our field. By sharing knowledge and expertise, we not only enhance our understanding but also foster awareness and create opportunities to elevate and influence the design profession.

Can you share a bit about your journey with CIDA and how you got involved?

The success of my career is a balance of advancing the profession and pursuing design excellence.  My continued involvement serving ASID, CIDQ, IDCEC, AAHID, ICOR, and most recently CIDA has brought richness to my career beyond my imagination. As part of the practitioner site reviewer pool, my thirty-five years of relevant practice experience empower me to make a significant impact in supporting programs seeking CIDA accreditation.

What impact has your work with CIDA had on your personal or professional growth?

Reviewing program content and student work reinforces my knowledge base. The unexpected bonus is an immense feeling of pride when I view interior design student work, realizing the talent and how well-prepared students are as they enter the profession.  Student creativity refuels my ambition to strive for design excellence!!!
