CIDA Publishes 2022 Future Scan Report
The Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) 2022 Future Scan is now available. The 2022 Future Scan is the latest addition in a series of scanning activities undertaken to forecast changes influencing interior design practice and professional education for interior designers. The most recent 2022 Future Scan is a robust, high-level summary of macro-trends impacting the built environment now and in the foreseeable future.
The 2022 Future Scan was created in preparation for the 2022 CIDA Summit, held at the American Society of Interior Designers Headquarters in October and the results of which are pending publication. CIDA’s annual scan and summit are conducted to both predict and respond to the myriad rapid changes impacting interior design. CIDA’s Board and Standards Committee use results of these scanning and forecasting activities to refine the accreditation standards used to evaluate interior design higher education programs.
