CIDA launches community review and comment of DRAFT Professional Standards 2028

The Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) invites the community to comment on DRAFT Professional Standards 2028 from September 15-October 15, 2026. Finalized Professional Standards 2028  are slated for adoption and publication in January 2027 with implementation on January 1, 2028 for accreditation reviews taking place in spring 2028.

DRAFT Professional Standards 2028 reflect community input about both curriculum content and the CIDA standards structural framework. DRAFT Professional Standards 2028 significantly streamline content while maintaining progressive practice-related content. Additionally open for community feedback, CIDA is launching a digital platform for viewing Professional Standards 2028 that enhances the user experience. A downloadable version of professional standards continues to be available.

The Council for Interior Design Accreditation is an independent, non-profit, accrediting organization responsible for setting standards and evaluating degree-granting interior design programs.
