What is the highest and best purpose of interior design?

The highest and best purpose of interior design is to create inspirational spaces that allow people to feel and be their best selves. Whether working, playing, learning, healing or simply carrying out the activities of daily living, all people have the right to space that supports their physical and psychological needs as a most basic function, while also creating value that helps them achieve their goals. Good design elevates the human spirit and potential, and therefore should be an important part of any group or organization's strategy for success, however they measure it.
