Registration is Now Open for CIDA's Virtual Accreditation Workshop Sessions

CIDA is offering five virtual sessions focused on various aspects of the accreditation process. Participants can register for individual sessions or all four sessions for a discounted rate. To register, please visit the CIDA website here.

The following sessions will be offered:

1: Navigating CIDA Accreditation: Process Overview and Practical Tips
Friday, February 27: 10:00 am-12:00 pm ET, Cost $140 per person

Join CIDA staff and a member of the Accreditation Commission for an overview of the accreditation process, key policies, and practical guidance for programs preparing to pursue CIDA accreditation.

2: Self-Study as a Tool for Program Assessment and Continuous Improvement
Monday, March 2: 11:00 am-1:30 pm ET, Cost $150 per person

Kelley Beaverford, Associate Professor in the Department of Interior Design at the University of Manitoba, will share her program’s recent experience completing a CIDA self-study and Program Analysis Report for a first-professional Master of Interior Design program. Natalia Worden, Chief Academic Officer at the Design Institute of San Diego, will then discuss her program’s approach to self-study and the development of its Program Analysis Report. The session will conclude with a panel discussion. 

3: Organizing a Successful Student Work Display
Friday, March 6th from 10:00 am-12:30 pm ET, Cost $150 per person

Travis Hicks, Professor and Department Chair, and Lauren Matlosz, Administrative Associate, from the Interior Architecture and Design program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, will share their experience organizing a student work display that incorporated primarily physical materials with select virtual components for a recent accreditation review. Daniel Newman, Assistant Teaching Professor at Drexel University, will discuss his experience organizing and developing a virtual student work display. The session will conclude with a panel discussion featuring all presenters.

4: A Program’s Perspective on Successfully Navigating an Accreditation Review
Tuesday, March 10th from 11:30 am-1:30 pm ET, Cost  $140

Mariana Junqueira and Katrina M. Lewis from the Department of Interior Architecture and Industrial Design at Kansas State University will co-present on their approach to self-study and organizing a student work display. Working as a coordinated team throughout the accreditation process, they will discuss how this collaborative approach supported consistency across written documentation, assessment evidence, student work, and file organization, ultimately strengthening the overall clarity and coherence of the materials presented to the review team. The session will conclude with a panel discussion featuring the presenters

5: Professional Standards 2024  
Thursday, March 12th from 10:00 am-12:00 pm ET,  Cost $140 per person

Members of CIDA’s Standards Committee and Accreditation Commission will join CIDA staff for a discussion about the Professional Standards and answer participant questions.
