Registration is Now Open for CIDA's Virtual Accreditation Workshop Sessions
CIDA is offering six virtual sessions focused on various aspects of the accreditation process. Participants can register for individual sessions or all four sessions for a discounted rate. To register, please visit the CIDA website here.
The following sessions will be offered
1. CIDA’s Accreditation Process and Important Policies, Friday, February 28 from 12:00 pm-1:30 pm ET, Cost $125 per person
CIDA staff will review the accreditation process as well as important policies and answer participant questions.
2. Program Self-study, Monday, March 3 from 10:00 am-12:30 pm ET, Cost $140 per person
Rene King, Assistant Professor, and Timothy Cozzens, Associate Professor in the BFA in Interior Architecture program at Columbia College Chicago will describe the methods they used to conduct a self-study and complete a self-study report for a recent accreditation review. Natalia Worden, Chief Academic Officer at the Design Institute of San Diego will then share her program’s approach to self-study and writing a Program Analysis Report. This session will include a panel discussion with the presenters.
3. CIDA’s Professional Standards, Tuesday, March 4 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm ET, Cost $140 per person
Members of CIDA’s Standards Committee and Accreditation Commission will join CIDA staff for a discussion about the Professional Standards and answer participant questions.
4. Organizing a Student Work Display, Friday, March 7 from 10:00 am-12:30 pm ET, Cost $140 per person
Reem Habib, Program Chair, and Junghee Kim, Professor of Interior Design at Yorkville University, will describe their experience organizing a student work display that included both physical and virtual materials for a recent accreditation review. Marla Emory, Chair of the Interior Design Program at Louisiana Tech University, will discuss two distinct methods her program used to organize and display virtual student work. This session will include a panel discussion with the presenters.
5. Successfully Navigating a Hybrid Accreditation Review, Monday, March 10 from 2:00 pm-4:30 pm ET, Cost $140 per person
Alvis Lawson Jr., Chair of the Interior Design program at the University of Southern Mississippi and Kelly Gore, Chair of the Interior Design Department at Belmont University will each discuss their recent experiences organizing and navigating a hybrid accreditation review. CIDA schedules hybrid reviews for programs that plan to share 50% or more of their student work and course materials virtually. This session will include a panel discussion with the presenters.
6. Learn More About Being a CIDA Site Visitor, Wednesday, March 5 at 2-2:45pm ET, no cost
CIDA site visitors, Sarah Wilhoit and Dana Nunn, will join CIDA staff in a discussion about becoming and being a CIDA site visitor and answer participant questions.
